ABOUT OUR LANDSCAPE DESIGN SERVICES
Stony Brook Gardens landscape division is dedicated to providing high quality design services. Our fully trained professional landscape designers will help you assess the problems and assets of your property, and mesh them with your needs.
LANDSCAPE CONSULTATION
We offer a one-hour consultation for an hourly fee of $95.00, which may be used to answer your questions (e.g., what are these plants? Are they worth saving? How do I care for them? How can I get more color or interest into this area?). We may offer design solutions or simple sketches on the spot.
Most often, the landscape consultation is an opportunity for the client to get acquainted with the designer, and for the designer to evaluate the property and understand the client's needs. If the client is interested in a landscape design, the designer will provide a design fee estimate based on this consultation.
LANDSCAPE DESIGN
Many clients find a complete landscape design, or master plan, extremely useful in planning for property improvements. This allows you to see a plan drawn to scale with proposed plantings and hardscaping (patios, decks, walls, fences, etc), which will later serve as a map for installation. For clients who want to complete the installation in stages, this allows you to plan according to your budget.
Your landscape designer can provide this service for an hourly fee of $85.00. She or he will measure your property and its important features, note sun/shade patterns, wind direction, grading or drainage issues, views in and out of the property, animal pests and other relevant characteristics. Equally important is information you provide about how you want to use the property, what types of plantings and hardscape features you like, and how much time you want to dedicate to maintaining your landscape.
Once the first draft of the design is ready, your designer will meet with you to present the plan and explain the rationale behind various aspects of it. She or he will show you plants or photos of plants and review options for hardscape materials and discuss installation details. At the close of this meeting, your designer will make any necessary adjustments to the design and give you a copy of the final drawing, along with an estimate to install the job.
